Welcome to our baggage guidelines page. Please review our instructions regarding hand luggage and checked luggage to ensure a seamless journey.
Carry-On Baggage
- Allowance: Each passenger is allowed one carry-on bag and one personal item (like a purse, briefcase, or laptop bag). The maximum carry-on bag dimensions are around 56 x 36 x 23 cm (22 x 14 x 9 in). However, weight limits may vary with different fare classes or airline policies.
- Fees: Some low-cost carriers may charge fees for carry-on bags. It’s best to check with the airline directly about any applicable charges.
Checked Baggage
- Allowance: Normally, passengers are permitted one checked bag weighing up to 23 kg (50 lbs). However, this may vary depending on your ticket type, fare category, or frequent flier status.
- Fees: You will incur additional fees if you have more than one checked bag or if your bag is larger or heavier than the airline’s regulations permit. You should consult your airline for comprehensive information on their specific fee structure.
- Oversized/Overweight Baggage: Oversized or overweight baggage may attract charges. To avoid incurring any excess payments, checking your airline’s dimensions and weight limits is essential.
Extra Baggage:
- Sporting Goods: Restrictions and charges may apply for transporting sporting goods like bicycles, golf clubs, or skis. Special packaging and handling may also be needed.
- Medical Equipment: Passengers needing medical equipment should notify their airline days before traveling. Many airlines assist and might carry medical appliances for free.
Forbidden Items:
- Hazardous Materials: These are not allowed. Examples include flammable materials, explosives, and dedicated chemicals. Seek more information from your carrier about specific items you are prohibited from carrying.
- High-Value Goods: You should carry high-value electronic devices, jewelry, and essential documents in your hand luggage. Airlines typically do not take liability for loss or damage to valuables if they are checked in.
Baggage Handling:
- Damage/Loss: Immediately report any damages or losses to your bags at the airport’s airline counter for baggage services. Claims that relate to lost or damaged luggage must adhere to airline policy.
- Delayed Baggage: The airline will assist in tracing your delayed bags and provide you with information updates. Depending on their own rules, they will sometimes compensate for it.
Refunds and Claims:
- Baggage Fees: In general, baggage charges are not refundable unless the airlines state otherwise or in connection with a change/cancellation made by them.
- Claim Process: For baggage claim purposes, follow the process laid down by each airline and submit all required documents. Airlines have different timelines for resolving such claims, depending on numerous factors, including how complex and involved the claim is.
Important Note:
Policy Changes: Baggage policies are subject to change. Please review the airline’s most current baggage guidelines before your trip.
Responsibility: Ensure compliance with all baggage policies to avoid unexpected fees or complications.
If you need further assistance or have inquiries about baggage, please contact our customer service team or visit the airline’s website.
